Le Caldane, a 2,000-year-old Etruscan thermal pool

Updated: Aug 31

Le Caldane, located in Gracciano, just 20 km from Villa Fiorenzani, in the countryside near Colle Val d'Elsa – a charming Tuscan town with almost 22,000 inhabitants, in the province of Siena – offers this and much more: it can't help but evoke a special emotion, in fact, taking a bath in a magical place that exudes history, being over two thousand years old. Immersing yourself in its waters is like taking a dive into the past and is priceless: and in fact, access to this thermal pool built by the Etruscans in the bend of a stream is completely free. Not to mention that the springs do not have a particularly hot temperature, about 20°C, a circumstance that makes them easily accessible even for a refreshing summer break, although the ideal is to soak in the spring months or on the still warm days of early autumn. The people of Colle Val d'Elsa in the Val d'Elsa are particularly jealous of the purity of Le Caldane, unanimously considered a true archaeological find, so we ask you to visit this place with respect.".
